Before & After Sew Project #1
Finally, my 1960′s sewing machine is up and working. I decided to start Before and After sewing projects to prove you can turn flab into fab! Recycling clothes instead of throwing them away will just gives me more room to grow as a designer. These second chances given to these sad pieces of clothes is part of my New Years resolution.
Before: This Arden B. cover-up has been laying on my closet floor since I moved back from Hawaii. I wrapped the cover-up around my waist backwards like a snuggy and relived the shape would be perfect as a shirt.
After: With some adjustments to the waistline and a few darts later I created this sewwww cute skirt perfect to go out in during the summer
I created to slashes up the sides a TA-DAAA Magic.
Found a New Home Double Duty Janome sewing machine at the thrift store! It’s from the 60′s and in perfect condition. With a built in cabinet, this bad boy cost me about…. 45.00!!! It has totally inspired me to get going on some new projects.
Finally got around to creating my bathing suit slopes. Took me about 3 hours to finish. Blah. Then started sketching… Let me know what you think
Just a few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I drove 12 hours to Durango, Colorado. This epic trip to one of the most beautiful places in the USA was a refreshing change in climate. Each night always hit the negatives on the thermometer! This is by far the coldest weather I have ever been in. However, as bizarre as this may sound, I absolutely loved it! Being dresses in 3 different layers made it so much easier to bear and honestly it was comfortable to be rapped up like a burrito.
Snowboarding was awesome, hardly anyone there. Had the slopes to myself wearing all the burton I could get my hands one. One of my favorite fabrics for cold weather is Wool. I borrowed a old vintage wool jacket for my trip and highly recommend you invest in one yourself in you heading to the snow anytime soon. It’s not good for snowboarding… But doing anything else defiantly.
Would I go back, of course.
Highlights of the trip…
- Car got stuck in the snow
- Spotted Elk tracks up to our front door
- Made a friend mouse in the house… Almost nibbled on my toes
- Saw a coyote
- Fell in a snow hole while trying to take a photo of cows and scared them all always!
A few weeks ago I got second place in the Reef Junior Stylist Contest held of Facebook! Unfortunately, I did not win the amazing price that presented a chance to style a Reef Photo shoot. However I did receive two pairs of Reef flats in the mail today! I love love love them. The souls are very comfortable and seem to hit my arch perfectly. I just can’t get enough. If your curiously looking for flats for your fancy feet check these bad boys out! http://shop.reef.com/girls-shoes/l/290 comment →
