floral skirt for spring 2012 hawaii fashion blog

I have been barefoot everyday, ever since I landed back in Hawaii from my long trip to San Diego. I loth the cold weather, so any sunshine makes me smile ear to ear. I have been favoring light fabrics and sun hats. This black sun hat is Betmor from New York. The light blouse is one of my most comfortable pieces I own, it is Mona B brand. The Floral skirt is actually a tube top dress. I ended up folding the tube part over my hips. I enjoy it more this way then a dress!

The stereotypes when people think of Hawaii consist of, pineapples, surfing, luaus, and lush rain forest. Out there for everyone to see, in the heart of Waikiki, lays underground artistic genius. Hawaii Street Art is an up and coming trend slowly swallowing empty space within the city itself. If you just tune your eyes to seek out these master pieces, you realize they are everywhere. Its inspiring and intoxicating. So I just had to share this unknown world because is it so unique and I feel it deserves more acknowledgement.

Each new season, M.A.C cosmetics comes out with unique and eye-catching themes to go with their newest line of eye shadows, lip sticks, and blushes. This spring season M.A.C cosmetics theme was called ” Shop til you drop”. With great marketing success, M.A.C cosmetics bounces to different malls around the country promoting their newest and hottest line in the most unique and exciting way. Today at Ala Monana Mall, in the heart of Waikiki, M.A.C cosmetics staged, what looked like Step-ford wifes meets Disco. This massive grocery store in the middle of the mall had about four aisles stocked with food-like boxes labeled with M.A.C cosmetics logo in bright neon colors! Black and white checked floors were covered with hot pink carts and professional make up artists ready to show us girls what you can do with the newest line … wearing aprons! It was the yummiest thing my eyes had ever seen! I literally wanted to gorge myself M.A.C madness … and did I!

First, I was able to put my name on a list where I would be given, step by step lessons by these professional makeup artist on how to use their brushes and try a sample of the newest collection. Once it was my turn, the sweetest girl named Bri took over with confidence educating me about the newest products of the “Shop til you drop” line that would work best with me…. And she even had a Step-ford wife apron on… So cute! I was given a “grocery list” of all the next products. This was so clever and definitely help with my decision making in the end. After soaking in this wonderful experience, I ended up buying the newest eye shadow X4 called “Call Me Bubbles.” It consisted of four hot new colors perfect for spring and summer! They even gave me a M.A.C cosmetics Bag and hot pink rubber gloves that had “Domestic Goddess!” written on them! I have to say, M.A.C cosmetics really knows how to throw a promotion party. With the models and the disco drag queen D.J-ing in the mall with funking music, this experience was a hit! If you are in need of a little color in your life I recommend getting something from M.A.C cosmetics because they really do have the “Your recipe for glamour,” this spring.

Target Jacket, Thrifted Blouse, Forever 21 Jeans, Steve Madden Sandals

Winter have struck Hawaii this week with massive amounts warm rain and I just had to pull out my fake leather jacket for Target. FAVVY A.K.A. Targai! Love, Love, Love. This wet road that is over looked by mountains on the West side of the Island was the perfect place to take a few pictures. I mounted my camera on the gate and turned the timer on. You just cannot take an ugly picture with these conditions. I just think its so funny that there was a “goats for sale” sign, that what make me stop at this spot first.
