Black Bari-Jay Vintage Dress
Vintage floral and cream jacket
MOVING to San Diego as been such an exciting adventure already. I love it here and cannot get enough of the Thrifts Stores. I have been so busy lately trying to get back into the groove in my new studio, that is why I have not posted anything lately! Soooo, let me update you on what I have been up too.
I started sketching again! Yay. I have many ideas for bathing suits for athletic water women. My goal is to create comfortable athletic swimwear for women. Two pet peeves of mine… worrying about their boobs falling out while preforming water sports or picking wedgies while surfing. So I have a few EPIC ideas up my sleeve. Next step … sewing.
I am going to start school in the fall, I am so excited to commit to fashion design, Hawaii really helped me discover myself and what I want to do with the rest of my life. I am going to make my dreams a reality. I truly believe you can do anything, you just have to be motivated in your mind and heart. Do what you love and success with follow, I promise.
One hobby I love is Thrift Store Shopping! Yesterday, my lovely mother and I strolled to the local Salvation Army for a few hours. One tip I can give to someone trying to become a professional thrift store shopper, “DO NOT GET OVERWHELMED!” Walking into a T.Store can be terrifying. You have to take a breath and commit a great deal of time. Its like playing hid and seek or finding that needle in the haystack. Go through one piece of clothing at a time. It is always a hit or miss for me. I can go hours without finding a single thing, however once you find something exquisite, its one of the best feelings there is! I scored and Vintage Floral Jacket and Black Vintage Backless Dress that reminds me of famous outfit Audrey Hepburn wears in Breakfast at Tiffany’s! Its worth the time, I promise! Just go one rack at a time…
